COURSE OVERVIEW
This nationally recognised training course gives participants the necessary skills and knowledge to safely and efficiently operate a Tractor and use attachments.
TOPICS COVERED
- Safely operate the tractor as well as select, remove and fit attachments
- Efficiently identify site hazards to minimise risks in the work zone
- Clear the work area following the environmental management plan
- Conduct tractor operations such as hole digging, lifting, and sweeping
- Understand and manage changes in the loads’ centre of gravity during transport
- The planning processes for machine operations
- Role and responsibility of a plant operator
- Relevant regulations and legislation
- Pre-start, operational and post-operational machine checks
- Machine types, capabilities & limitations
- Safe driving methods & adjusting techniques to suit changes in site conditions
- Attaching, usage and removal of attachments
- Transportation of the machine between sites
- Shutdown & securing procedures
PRE-REQUISITES
- Ability to comprehend the English language
- A USI Number (Unique Student Identifier) Visit: www.usi.gov.au
- Safety footwear
DURATION
1 full day – could be variable dependent upon applicants ability
TRAINING & ASSESSMENT
Two (2) assessments will be conducted – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.
LICENCES & CERTIFICATION
This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size competency card.
