COURSE OVERVIEW
A roller is commonly used on building and civil construction sites. Operators require a statement of attainment in order to safely use the equipment.
This unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to safely operate a Roller in the civil construction industry.
TOPICS COVERED
- Understand roller types and characteristics
- Understand roller capabilities and characteristics
- Understand basic principles of soils
- Calculate safe working loads
- Interpret drawings and sketches
- Apply site and equipment safety requirements
- Carry out basic earthworks calculations
PRE-REQUISITES
- Ability to comprehend the English language - A short literacy and numeracy test will be required
- A USI Number (Unique Student Identifier) Visit: www.usi.gov.au
- Safety footwear
DURATION
1 day - Variable dependent upon applicants ability/experience.
TRAINING & ASSESSMENT
Two (2) assessments will be conducted at the completion of training – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.
LICENCES & CERTIFICATION
This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size competency card issued by Intrain National Training Academy RTO 91759.
