Haul Truck - Articulated

COURSE OVERVIEW

This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to operate, load, haul and dump materials using an articulated haul truck in the building and civil construction industries .

This unit applies to both front and rear dumping haul trucks.

In this truck training course, you will learn the skills to conduct haul truck operations in the building and civil construction industry.

TOPICS COVERED

• Plan and prepare for articulated haul operations
• Operate articulated haul truck in line with established requirements
• Load, haul and dump materials to complete work activity
• Conduct cleaning up activities
• Calculate safe working loads
• Apply site and equipment safety requirements
• Carry out basic earthworks calculations

PRE-REQUISITES

• Ability to comprehend the English language

• Safety footwear

DURATION

1 day - Variable dependent upon applicants ability/experience.

Please note: This course is onsite assessment only for experienced operators (60-80 hours experience) using your Haul truck.

TRAINING & ASSESSMENT

Two (2) assessments will be conducted at the completion of training – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.

LICENCES & CERTIFICATION

This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants’ deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size competency card.
