Operation of an excavator requires a certificate of competency. In this unit, you will learn the skills and knowledge required to conduct excavator operations.
TOPICS COVERED
- Operate the excavator and use attachments
- Understand excavator types and characteristics
- Understand excavator capabilities and limitations
- Calculate safe working loads
- Interpret drawings and sketches
- Apply site and equipment safety requirements
- Carry out basic earthworks calculation
PRE-REQUISITES
- Ability to comprehend the English language - A short literacy and numeracy test will be required
- A USI Number (Unique Student Identifier) Visit: www.usi.gov.au
- Safety footwear
DURATION
1 full day – variable dependent upon applicants ability
TRAINING & ASSESSMENT
Two (2) assessments will be conducted at the completion of training – Knowledge and Practical Assessments.
LICENCES & CERTIFICATION
This course is a Nationally Recognised Training and applicants deemed competent at the conclusion of the course will be provided with a Statement of Attainment and a wallet-size competency card issued by Intrain National Training Academy RTO 91759.
